Avocado: The fruit comes from the avocado tree which is about 30 feet tall but can grow to be about 60 feet tall. The avocado fruit is pear-shaped with a hard skin. The skin varies in color from yellow-green to dark green to reddish purple almost black. The edible part of the fruit lays directly under the skin and is usually bright-green. There is a single seed in the middle of the fruit.
The avocado came from Mexico. Now it is grown commercially in several countries United States being one of them.
